Thomas Hager, who calls himself Mister Social Security, says the program is more confusing than ever.
Hager published an article for Forbes.com that lists 25 facts to help individuals understand Social Security and its benefits. They include:
- If you are receiving Social Security benefits, you are automatically signed up for Medicare.
- You cannot sign away your rights to Social Security benefits in a divorce decree. Social Security is only concerned as to whether you were married 10 years or more.
